CORAZON RUDO” (meaning “Rough Heart”) is a Swiss-Colombian multimedia performance by Zurich-based director Diana Rojas-Feile. Its starting point is conversations with people who were recruited into armed conflicts in Colombia as children.

At its heart is the voice of Margarita. She speaks of the instrumentalization of the body in war, the logic of the war machine, and of survival. Voices, sound, images, and live music create an intense experiential space that places listening at its center.

“Corazón Rudo” poses questions that have no easy answers: Who is considered a victim, who is responsible? Who survives, who tells their story—and who listens? What happens to the pain of others when we encounter it?
The evening invites shared reflection and opens up a form of listening that takes individual experiences seriously while simultaneously focusing on the past, present, and possible futures.
